Hydrophilic Streptavidin Magnetic Beads

Product Introduction

Hydrophilic Streptavidin Magnetic Beads are 2-3 µm superparamagnetic particles covalently coupled to a highly pure form of streptavidin. The beads can be used to capture biotin labeled substrates including antigens, antibodies and nucleic acids.

  • The strength of the biotin-streptavidin interaction, an association constant (Ka) of 1015 M-1 coupled with the low non-specific binding of streptavidin permits captured substrates to be useful as ligands in subsequent experiments including mRNA isolation and the capture of primary or secondary antibodies
  • Binding capacity: ≥30 µg biotinylated antibody per mg and > 400 pmol of single-stranded 25 bp biotinylated oligonucleotide per mg
  • Quick, small-scale purification of biotinylated oligonucleotides affords higher throughput and efficiency

Product Information

Description

Hydrophilic Streptavidin Magnetic Beads are 2 µm superparamagnetic particles covalently coupled to a highly pure form of streptavidin. The beads can be used to capture biotin labeled substrates including antigens, antibodies and nucleic acids (1,2). The strength of the biotin-streptavidin interaction, an association constant (Ka) of 1015 M-1 coupled with the low non-specific binding of streptavidin permits captured substrates to be useful as ligands in subsequent experiments including mRNA isolation and the capture of primary or secondary antibodies (3,4).

Beads are supplied as a 4 mg/ml suspension in a phosphate buffer (PBS) (pH 7.4) containing 0.1% BSA, 0.05% NaN3 and 0.05% Tween® -20.

For larger volume requirements, customized and bulk packaging is available by purchasing through the OEM/Bulks department at NEB. Please contact custom@neb.com for further information.
