PCR reaction volumes are getting increasingly smaller with improving technology. Consideration of sealing methods has not increased accordingly though and tests of standard PCR consumables show low but significant levels of evaporation during PCR. Heat sealing was the best method of sealing samples and reducing evaporation, especially when used in combination with 2-component plates. Heat sealing is the gold standard for sample protection.

The use of automated heat sealing equipment standardises seal application and guarantees reproducible sealing performance, plate after plate.
Our seals are produced according to our ISO standard manufacturing. All of our seals are DNase, RNase, human genomic DNA, dust, endotoxin and pyrogen free.

Heat Sealing is versatile

Heat seals are available as sheets, for manual or semi-automatic heat sealers, as well as in different roll formats for automated sealers.
Depending on the plate material (PP, PE, PS, COC, PC), the presence of solvents in your sample and the storage or application temperatures required, we can offer a wide range of seals with features including 100% DMSO resistance and seal integrity temperatures between -200˚C to +120˚C.
