FrameStar^® PCR plates have a two-component design, which combines the advantages of thin wall polypropylene tubes, for optimum PCR results and a rigid polycarbonate skirt and deck, for highest thermal stability and rigidty. In contrast to standard one-piece PCR plates, evaporation from corner positions and outer rows of wells is minimal, which allows for downscaling of reagent volumes and therefore saves costs. Now with frosted wells for ABi/LifeTech qPCR instruments

While clear wells are the best for sample visibility and optical appeal, white wells increase the signal to noise ratio by maximising reflection of light. This leads to better sensitivity and reproducibility with a wide range of qPCR instruments from most manufacturers.

However, white well PCR plates may lead to software related problems with ABI/Life Tech cyclers. For this reason the manufacturer recommends the use of plates with frosted wells as a compromise solution. Although the frosting does not provide the same sensitivity as white wells, readings are still considerably higher than those achieved with standard clear wells.

4titude has developed a frosted well variant of the FrameStar 384 plate to offer ABI/Life Tech instrument users the time and money saving advantages of FrameStar. And as the signal levels are directly comparable with ABI/Life Tech, there's no need for users to recalibrate their instruments.

Barcoding

To order your plates with barcodes, simply add /SBC to the end of the ordering code for Standard Single Barcoding, /DBC for Standard Double Barcoding, /TBC for Standard Triple Barcoding, or /QBC for Standard Quadruple Barcoding (see Barcoding for more details).

Please be aware the barcoding products have a minimum order quantity of 10 boxes with 50 plates.
