NEBNext® Magnetic Separation RackProduct information
Product IntroductionThe NEBNext® Magnetic Separation Rack is designed for rapid and effective small-scale separations of magnetic particles, in 0.2ml tubes.
Next generation sequencing library preparation workflows include magnetic bead-based purification and size-selection steps. It is important for library yield and quality that bead separation be highly efficient and fast, and this is enabled by the powerful fixed magnet cores in this rack.
- Fast separations in purification and size-selection steps in next generation sequencing workflows
- Small-scale separation of magnetic particles
- Anodized aluminum rack with Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) rare earth magnets, the most powerful commercially available
- 24 tube capacity: 8- and 12-strip 0.2 ml PCR tubes or individual 0.2 ml PCR tubes
Next generation sequencing library preparation workflows include magnetic bead-based purification and size-selection steps. It is important for library yield and quality that bead separation be highly efficient and fast.
This rack was designed for this application and contains rare earth Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) magnets, the most powerful commercially available magnets, in an anodized aluminum rack. The rack holds 24 0.2ml tubes, and is compatible with single tubes or strip tubes.
Properties and Usage
Rack: Anodized Aluminum (Gray).
Magnets: Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) magnets are rare earth magnets, the most powerful commercially available magnets.
The separation rack accepts 8- and 12- strip 0.2 ml PCR tubes or individual 0.2 ml PCR tubes, with a total capacity of 24 tubes.
Properties & Usage
FeaturesSmall-scale separations of magnetic particles.
Next generation sequencing sample purification and size-selection protocols with magnetic particles.
Rare earth magnets especially containing Iron and Boron are extremely powerful. Care should be taken when handling these magnets. Keep magnetized parts away from mechanical/electrical instruments. The strong magnetic fields of Neodymium Iron Boron magnets can also damage magnetic media such as credit cards, magnetic I.D. cards, or other such devices. Never place Neodymium Iron Boron magnets near electronic appliances.
Never allow Neodymium Iron Boron magnets near a person with a pacemaker, implantable cardioverter defibrillator, and other non-static (actively operating) implanted medical device because the magnets may interfere with the operation of those devices and/or cause them to malfunction, possibly resulting in injury or death. Steel implants, such as hip or knee replacements, can strongly attract or be attracted to the device.
Neodymium magnets will lose their magnetic properties if heated above 80°C (175°F). Neodymium magnets should never be burned, as burning them will create toxic fumes.
