Product Information

Description

Quick-Load® Purple 100 bp DNA Ladder is a pre-mixed, ready-to-load molecular weight DNA marker containing one tracking dye. Tracking dye does not leave a shadow under UV light.

Source

Quick-Load® Purple 100 bp DNA Ladder consists of proprietary plasmids, which are digested to completion with appropriate restriction enzymes to yield 12 bands suitable for use as molecular weight standards for agarose gel electrophoresis. The digested DNA includes fragments ranging from 100 bp to 1,517 bp. The 500 and 1,000 bp bands have increased intensity to serve as reference bands.

  • Recommended gel percentage range: 1.2-3%
  • Optimum separation on 2%

Product Notes

  1. Preparation of DNA
The double-stranded DNA is digested to completion with appropriate restriction enzymes, phenol extracted and equilibrated in storage buffer.

  2. Usage recommendation
We recommend loading 10 ul (0.5 ug) of Quick-Load® Purple 100 bp DNA Ladder per gel lane. The Quick-Load® Purple 100 bp DNA Ladder is not intended for precise quantification of DNA mass but can be used for approximating the mass of DNA in comparably intense samples of similar size.

  3. Quick-Load® Purple 100 bp DNA ladder is stable for at least 6 months at 25°C.
For long term storage, store at 4°C or -20°C.
If stored at -20°C, mix well after thawing. If not well mixed, the load may float out of the wells.
